"One of my favorite things on the ship was the Mosiac Cafe, where we had cappuccinos each morning, and enjoyed little sandwiches and treats throughout the day.I liked the sound of overnight stays, and a smaller ship, and we were excited to be introduced to Azamara Cruises...."Read More

1-10 of 13 Azamara Journey Cruise Reviews for Luxury to Europe - River
We have cruised over 12 voyages on various cruise lines, including a river cruise and have had varied experiences. We had heard great things about Azamara and we were not disappointed. Yes, the earlier technical glitches were unnerving but thanks to the many loyal Azamara regulars on this site, our concerns were allayed.
While the room was smaller that we expected, we found lots of cubbies to ...
We have cruised about 300 days with many other cruise lines and this was our first cruise with Azamara. We found the staff to be the nicest and most helpful of all the cruise lines we have been with. I have a mobility scooter and they were extremely helpful when I had difficulty getting around. The ship is older and not too accessible. There were high ledges and doors to open that could not ...
This was our first – and last – cruise on Azamara. We’ve been on about 15 cruises on five different cruise lines, but we’ve never had such a miserable experience with a cruise company’s office and corporate personnel before. Apparently, the transition from being a part of Royal Caribbean to independence has been a rocky one. The website almost never worked, and I spent days and hours on hold ...
We were looking for a cruise that included both Barcelona and Gibraltar, and I stumbled upon this itinerary for a Spain Intensive cruise with a cruise line that I hadn’t heard about before. I liked the sound of overnight stays, and a smaller ship, and we were excited to be introduced to Azamara Cruises. The flexible, casual style of cruising really suited us. I loved the basic drink package that ...
Ship is nice with a good itinerary. The idea of spending the night in a few ports was attractive. However, the itinerary changed 3 times after we had booked and we booked only 100 days out. These changes actually took out an entire night in Rouen, France which changed the ability to spend an evening in Paris which was our plan. Azamara's goal is to make this a boutique cruise catering to a smaller ...
We have sailed Azamara a number of times and really enjoy the on-board experience. This itinerary attracted us because of the variation in cultures and climate.
The embarkation was very smooth and we were quickly processed. .
Because of an upgrade, we were staying in a Club Continent Suite as opposed to our usual Veranda 2. We really enjoyed the extra space, but did not utilize all the perks ...
We feel that we are out growing Celebrity and are looking to find a place for us to continue cruising. Sadly Azamara wasn't the fit for us. Azamara is a lovely cruise line but it seems to cater to an older and a more sedate crowd. We prefer a more lively bar scene and love the martini bar on celebrity. We never found a place that really had a big enough bar to allow for a lively bar scene. They ...
Thank you linbagz for trying Azamara, and for writing the insightful cruise review.
Who knows, maybe a Martini Bar will be in our combined futures!
We hope to welcome you back aboard, if not...
Second Azamara cruise, but many others on the ship were 15+ with Azamara. Very loyal following of the line and certain personalities on each ship. 50+ passengers were on the 102 day world cruise. Not a one I talked with had anything negative to say. The Azamara line uses 2 of the R ships. (A third, the Pursuit, is coming on line in August 2018 and there were hints that a fourth may be added ...
I just took my first cruise on the Azamara Journey and was highly impressed with the ship, crew, food, and friendliness of the passengers. I had received an extremely good deal on an obstructed ocean view cabin and luckily was able to select cabin 6036, which is between lifeboats and thus not very obstructed. I was pleasantly surprised how well laid out this cabin was and it was totally acceptible ...
Previously sailed on Azamara, in spite of last year's 'refurbishment' (all very surface) the ship is dated, cabins small, shower tiny, wait staff brusque, food just okay, not a luxury or sub-luxury experience. This ship is truly not worth the cost, Viking Ocean and Oceana are light years better in every way. Celebrity and Royal Caribbean are better for much less money.
Cruise Director was ...
