Excellent way to see the impressive coasts of Norway

This was the second half of a back to back, using the Zuiderdam to get to the Netherlands. This was our 3rd cruise on the NS and she did not disappoint! We had an interior cabin coming over on the Zuiderdam and a Balcony on the NS. Very clean ship, sailing at full capacity. Sometimes it felt a little crowded but not overwhelming. Food was above par and service excellent! From waiters to ...

Seeing Norway was always on our bucket list, but delayed because of the pandemic. Thankfully, we were able to take this cruise in May 2023 on the Nieuw Statendam. Holland America did not disappoint as the ship was gorgeous, the staff were excellent as always, the food was delicious, and the ports were beautiful. We decided to take quite a few excursions with the ship and also with Shore ...

A consistently inconsistent level of service.

This was our 5th HAL cruise and will probably be our last. Firstly, one of our main reasons for choosing HAL was the Lincoln Center Stage which has now been discontinued. As we are not fans of loud rock or blues music, that didn't leave us many music offerings on board that we could enjoy. We had always enjoyed Lincoln Center stage's performances and the high level of musicianship. But I ...

The new Rotterdam ship was lovely. We boarded late due to a gastro problem on board the previous week which required a DEEP cleaning. The special needs people were hard to find. Non existent on disembarking. Wheelchairs NEVER appeared at designated spot& we had to get ourselves off. No help. The entire crew was very pleasant. However in main Dinning room they were extremely slow. 45 min to even ...

Mid size. Medium everything

While not bad…not as great as other ships with RCCL. Entertainment was not best. Whoever thinks a juggler, a magician, ventriloquist and cyclist offer much adult entertainment needs to think again. Ship entertainers were not always singing live during shows and the music was much louder than the vocals. The food in the dining room was presented well. Best waiters ever. But food was so so. ...

Beautiful trip to Norway and the fjords

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Viking Jupiter

We love Viking. Consistently excellent service. The intermarry is great with the only low points being rough seas and lots of ship motion during the sea day in the North Sea and high winds which prevented the ship from docking in Flam and the the cancelling of our shore excursions.... none of which Viking can control. The food is delicious although my wife and I aren't foodies. It's an older ...

The staff were as usual very good but the land tours were not! It was mediocre. Most of the tour guides were not so professional. There was one time the tour guide just told us to "go there and be back in thirty minutes". Adding insult was when we met along the way Gate1 travelers with their guide giving information through their whispers regarding the place hahahaha! It's funny for the amount ...

After having to reschedule our Viking Russian River Cruise 2 times, we decided to take the Viking Ocean cruise to Norway. We originated in Amsterdam and ended in Oslo using extensions on both ends of the Cruise. First lets talk about the wonderful parts of the cruise: 1. The ship is absolutely beautiful. 2. The staterooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are roomy and well provided for ...

I wanted to see the fjords. I have always wanted to visit Norway. The ship is beautiful. The attention to detail is what makes Viking special. The crew and staff are amazing. I loved the cruise. We could not dock in Flam due to high winds. That made me very sad. I really wanted to take that train ride. The captain was great in taking us slowly through the fjords and it was beautiful but not the ...

We loved Viking and the ship was just the right size. The shows were good and the food was excellent. We are vegetarians and they went out of their way to accomodate us. We used the gym daily and it is well maintained. The equipment was good and there was enough equipment for this size ship. The adjacent spa area was extremely nice and refreshing. Unfortunately the pools are very small and not ...
