Despite cool damp weather the quality of the young boat and its staff was obvious.
Our cabin, port side, going down river kept its view when alongside.
The exterior and top deck are not well presented/decorated.
Tour guides/coaches were excellent (we enjoyed the inclusive tours).
Our cabin was most attractive, (with large shower cubicle) and so well serviced twice a day we left a tip ...
After a wonderful experience with Uniworld’s Burgundy and Provence cruise five years ago I was terribly disappointed in their performance this time around with the Classic Christmas Markets cruise. While I understand that inclement weather conditions are outside anyone’s control, Uniworld did a very poor job of contingency planning. We were provided information as to the status of our itinerary ...
This was our first river cruise. Cruise ship super tacky. Decor very off putting . We were disappointed with the rigid schedule . The tours we tried were not very good. Dinner menu great but only one choice of when to dine. We would have prefered more flexibility, like a more casual dining option. The so called included ‘ Premium wine ‘ was very poor. I mean it is a French river cruise but the ...
Uniworld packages 3 voyages together as "Ultimate France", this covers week 3.
There is no bistro on-board this ship & there were 147 passengers onboard - this might be why dining room service suffered during week 3.
Housekeeping:- cabin was clean and well maintained.
Food:
By week 3, it was very obvious that dishes at dinner were repeating weekly (eg; foie gras brioche, baked Alaska, ...
After doing 20 ocean cruises, we just returned from our first river cruise on Uniworld River Empress and absolutely loved it!
The itinerary (Basel-Amsterdam) was fantastic, with mix of some larger cities (Basel/Amsterdam overnight, Frankfurt and Cologne) and some smaller charming villages/towns. Highly recommended.
Uniworld is one of the most inclusive lines, and it's considered a luxury ...
We took the week-long ‘Dutch Delights’ cruise from Amsterdam and back, via the IJsellmeer inland sea and both large and small rivers. This ‘Generations’ cruise had several sizeable family groups with well-behaved kids, a change from the usual mix of retirees.
We particularly enjoyed visiting the pretty small towns in Friesland and the rural far south of The Netherlands. Amsterdam is probably ...
I chose this cruise because a friend recommended them. between employees walking into my room unannounced while I was not dressed, food that was salty, the ship not having my food allergies (all of which the reservation people had,) a server who did not offer me anything to drink while people around me had red and white wine. Because of the Food Allergy issue, out of 3-pages, there was one item ...
I will start with the things I like and that was the ship. It was very nice and cabin was very comfortable. We had the deluxe french balcony. One closet that had draws below was useless because it hit the night stand and you could not open the draws. As usual the service was excellent.
Now on to what I did not like. I thought the food was just OK. I never had a meal where I said that was ...
We have cruised with Silversea and Regent but had never done a river cruise We chose Castles on the Rhine from Amsterdam to Basel. We liked the itinerary and the all inclusive aspect of Uniworld.
When I stepped foot on the dock in Amsterdam and two men came running down the gangplank to handle my luggage, I knew we had made the right choice.
The staff was unbelievable. They were ...
A friend recommended Uniworld to me and I'm glad he did. What a wonderful experience it was.
The boat, the staff, the food, the scenery - everything exceeded my expectations.
And you could be as active or laid back as you desired. I started each day joining the exercise class on the top deck. There were daily walking tours of the local town or village where we were moored, a strenuous hike ...
