Tui Western Med Marella cruise June 2023
Usual TUI disorganisation at Manchester airport. Food in the 47 & 47 gallery was not up to expectations & some of the portions were meagre to say the least. I ordered a side of fried potatoes & received two slices of potatoes. Entertainment in the atrium and squid & anchor was quite poor. The squid & anchor was closed on two nights until 8-45 pm for ...
Recently returned from 'Marella' Discovery.
Have had many fantastic cruises with Thomson & then for various reasons tried Fred Olsen which we have also had some great cruises on.
I was on Discovery for the inaugural cruise & had a lovely time however this last cruise just didn't do it for us. We made the most of it as a family & enjoyed every minute & laughed our way through the ...
Some lovely restaurants attended by excellent waiting staff. Three of the six restaurants have an additional charge applied. Most of the food was very good with only one or two disappointing meals experienced during our week long stay.
The bars look very 70's but were also well attended.
The cabins are a bit bland whilst the communal parts of the ship appear very dated. My wife and I enjoyed ...
Picked up from airport and a short transfer to the ship, a very long queue to register for the ship. Eventually got on board, not shown to cabin as with other cruises! A decent cabin with plenty of storage space, we even had sun loungers on our balcony.. The ship is very smart with several venues for drinks & entertainment..The crew were a mixed bag some obviously happier than others , we even ...
Thought with the refit, the quality would be better. It was unfortunate the weather was very windy and cloudy, so the boat moved up and down and side to side causing many cases of sea sickness. The seasoned staff who have been on other boats said this boat was the worse for instability that they had ever been on...
All inc included three restraunts only. The 'small' surcharge on the other two ...
Unfortunately Thomson definition of family cruise is 'kids cruise', there is very little adults only space and the little there is, for example the jacuzzis, are taken over by unruly children diving in around you, although some of this is bad parenting I suppose. The children also block the stairways and press all the elevator buttons, causing it to stop at all floors, really irritating. ...
Travelled with a friend. Expected big things with all the hype about Tui being 'more upmarket'. Basically its like a floating 3* all inclusive - the room was ok - no frills - plenty of storage space.
The room staff were excellent - worked really hard & very friendly.
Supposed to have beer re-furbished, but very scruffy in the main.
Food in the buffet restaurant was ok at breakfast and not ...
We wanted to try a larger ship before sailing on the Britannia. We have done Thomson cruises before, but always on small ships. We picked up a last minute bargain. We booked a Junior suite, which satisfied a couple of curiosities for us. We had never had a balcony before, or a cabin on a higher deck. Having a cabin on a higher deck made no difference whatsoever, apart from perhaps feeling the ...
After cruising with Princess, Cunard and P and O we decided to try this new Thomson ship primarily because of the interesting 2 week literary. We booked a junior suite on deck 8, cabin 8074. Embarkation was swift as we had priority status and we were quickly into our cabin with our luggage following less than an hour later. The room was an excellent size, as was the bathroom, but the curtain was ...
We chose this cruise because we had previously sailed on Thomson celebration which is one of the smaller ships and both times had a wonderful holiday, food, staff, cabin crew, entertainment were all excellent so this year we decided to try thomsons newest liner. We had booked a cabin on deck three but on arrival were put on deck two, it would not have bothered my husband or myself but we had ...
