A lot of room for improvement

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Escape

My wife and I just returned from the Norwegian Escape after taking a trip over New Years and her birthday. We really love to cruise. This was our first experience with Norwegian and for the record we have been on cruises with Holland America, Carnival, Princess and Royal Caribbean. We are comparing to everyone but MSC as we haven't been on their line yet. I perceived Norwegian as an upper ...

If you haven't confirmed, choose another cruise line besides Norwegian!

I cruised on the Norwegian Escape on December 16, 2023. Although this was not my first cruise on Norwegian, it will be my last! I was disappointed with so many aspects of the service provided, that I'm sure I'll forget to mention something. 1. The guest to crew ratio was not conducive to great service. I had a party of 7 and meals in the main dining room were at least 2 hours for each ...

We chose this cruise to go with a friend group. We felt we got a good price using the Black Friday special and had heard good things about NCL. We traveled to the cruise together however on our flight back we were booked on separate flights which was inconvenient as we had travelled to the airport together. The entertainment was not family friendly and it was good entertainment but not ...

Good staff but poor value for money

We are avid and experienced cruisers. We tried NCL years ago so we thought we would try them again. Big mistake. We have never experienced so much nickel and diming in our lives. Your cruise includes a few restaurants but there is constant encouragement to eat at one of the many speciality restaurants at a considerable a la carte cost. The quality of food that one expects from a cruise is only ...

Stressed to the max, even with Platinum travel insurance thru NCL

The GOOD: The cruise ship was fine and the staff/crew were extraordinarily friendly/helpful. My 7 yr old son loved the big slides on board. The Garden Cafe on deck 16 was scrumptious. The NOT SO GOOD: Our balcony room was fine ‘til we realized the seal around the doors was messed up and caused a constant whistling noise. We were told that we had to be in port before they could fix it so we had ...

Poor experience below expectations

We were looking forward to this cruise with great enthusiasm and we didn't like it at all. The cabins are very small not for 4 people. The food in the 3 complementary restaurants are the same and the the manhattans restaurant, the taste and the savor. Restaurant reservations must be made before boarding the cruise because it is impossible on the cruise. Small place to do the glow party to many ...

A not memorable experience

First time with Norwegian, following recommendations for this cruise line online and YouTube . To start , the app, service , and debarkation were excellent. I went with no expectations, the experience was flat, nothing special, and more of the same. The food was ok, we had a dining package and tried the French Bistro that was disappointing, menu was limited, the only real French flavor was the ...

Never Again

I am not new to cruising, but I am new to NCL. The reason this cruise was chosen was that my friends had booked a graduation cruise for their son and invited me to tag along. They are not new to NCL, but after this recent experience, will likely be looking elsewhere. Embarkation: Admittedly, I'm a little spoiled. I usually book at least a junior suite on Royal, so I have expedited check-in. ...

Nice ship, 4 adults, 2 rooms, 2 Covid cases and 1 bacterial infection—we are done cruising

Nice ship, good food, friendly staff. Wife came down with bacterial infection went to ship’s doctor wanted $140 to examine her. 22 year old son and 61 year old dad came down with Covid. I also feel like there were a lot a small charges which were annoying. The Atrium lounge had some good acts but many shows were sold out and couldn’t be accessed. Same with dining, while we had two ...

Noticeable Staff Shortage and Cutbacks

This is my 7th cruise with NCL and quite familiar with the product and overall services onboard. This cruise was at fully capacity, so it was packed alright. Food was mediocre since the restart with the cutbacks. Basic buffet food and dismal/non-existent salad bar. Restaurant food was a little better but overly salty, especially at Cagney's. Overall, it was a boring cruise and we were ready to ...
