Wanted to experience a mega ship was the best cruise, the food was great and service was beyond five stars. When we ate in the any dining room, I would put my napkin on my lap, and someone would be at our table asking if we wanted a drink or bread. I would order a soup and salad and just as I would but down the spoon I would have the salad. We had little to no waiting time after placing our dinner orders. Shows were very good and several of the singers were good. Truly like duelling piano's in Hardliners was great. After six cruise's the Escape was the best. Already booking another on cruise the Escape. The Escape has so much to do on board that I can't see how someone could be bored, Over all the ship was very clean and best of all checking in and disembarking was fast. Read Less

NCL provided a very positive experiences. Food was excellent & service was impeccable. Professional & friendly staff made it an excellent choice. We had a balcony cabin and we found it provided plenty of room for two people. There was a variety of entertainment & plenty of activities to do. We loved the layout of the ship. We didn't do any specialty restaurants because the buffets and the Manhattan provided everything we were hoping for. We love Bermuda hence the Escape provided the perfect experience. We wish the stay there could have been a bit longer. On board shops provided everything we needed. Self assist disembarkation fit our need perfectly to catch an early transportation home. Plenty of quiet corners around the ship for rest and relaxation. We went for meals right when the restaurants opened hence no waiting lines. Soft drinks were expensive, over $4 for a can of pop. Over all, a wonderful experience! Read Less

Norwegian Escape looked a little dated inside of the room but ultimately the ship was great! My husband I and decided to explore on our own this time instead of doing excursions and it was so relaxing. I was a little worried since this was our second time to Bermuda but fourth time cruising with Norwegian. But if you have somewhat of an idea before hand, then exploration will take up your whole day in a good way. Great food, great party people, and just an all around great atmosphere. This was a really awesome trip. The service on board was pretty great (of course when you have the beverage package bartenders start remembering your names). The music/live entertainment at the Skyline Bar next to the casino was great! The live entertainment in the atrium was great! The crowd participation was great! I am definitely looking forward to the next one. Read Less

Chose the NCL Escape to Bermuda for our 2nd cruise to Bermuda to take advantage of the upper and northern parts that we didn't get to explore or experience on our 1st cruise there on Breakaway. HURRICANE FLORENCE made for a lot of anxiety about even getting on the ship, never mind the cancelled itinerary and diversion to plan for Port Canaveral, Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau (later cancelled). Had a nice stay at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson pre-cruise, comfortable, great location and easy access to Manhattan. We enjoyed touring the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island by ferry. Was really a good time. Got crushed in the rotating doors on the first night heading out to dinner; it kind of skipped on me and made a leap to get through. Didn't go well. Ripped chuck of skin back on left forearm and required some quick assistance to not bleed all over the place. Patched it up and went out. Seemed OK. Woke up in the morning and had little to no range of motion in left shoulder/neck and very sore. My arm got stuck in clearing the rotating doors so I must have pulled the arm and shoulder through. Got better each day, seems OK. Also notices left toenail black and bone area at the bend huge. That got worse each day. The only reason such is mentioned is my review is absent almost any of the activities I normally do (on Escape last December). With an open wound, I wouldn't do a hot tub or the water slides for my own, as well as others', concerns. With the shoulder and toe, out went the ropes courses. SO WE RELAXED. We're early risers and I made a daily trip by 6AM for an urn of coffee at O'Sheehan's. I've done this on all cruises (see expanded signature). TOTALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE DAILY ATTENTION TO CLEANLINESS ON THE NCL ESCAPE. Starting with the hallways, stairways, common areas and the dining and bar venues. THEY CLEANED EVERY TABLE at O'Sheehan's every morning - not just the tops; underneath every table, every leg, every chair, every square inch. CHANGING CLEANING TOWELS AND SPRAYS CONSTANTLY. Rugs and composite or tile flooring the same. IT WAS LIKE THIS AT EVERY DINING AND BAR VENUE WE VISITED. What a GREAT CREW that really, really takes care of a GREAT SHIP. Our stateroom was 15132 Spa Balcony. We've done the Spa Balcony or Haven each time and luckily also get the VIBE as we arrive 8-8:30 to avoid the heaving travel related issues during later hours (our experience). The Spa pass for the week is WORTH IT; went every day, wife loves a couple hours in the ceramic loungers. I enjoy some of the therapy rooms and the non-heated loungers; one of the nicest views on the ship. Used the fitness center only for mats to do exercises lying on back for tone; not a runner or grunter, but don't mind that activity. I FOUND THE FITNESS CENTER "just barely" the right size as some had to plan different times to access the machines they wanted. VERY CLEAN, VERY FRIENDLY. The stateroom is small, and perfect for us. We ALWAYS HAND CLEAN THE ENTIRE BATHROOM AND HARD AND FABRIC SURFACES. The bathroom was "SPOTLESS." So were the hard surfaces and the furniture. The rug did show quite a bit if color in the rags we used, but not really bad. CABIN SIGNAGE for when to clean, privacy etc. works for us. ONE NOTE, if YOU LEAVE A CARD IN THE SLOT BELIEVING TO KEEP POWER ON, the LIGHT OUTSIDE SAYS "YOU'RE IN THE ROOM" AND THE ATTENDANT WILL NOT CLEAN. Just a heads up. DINING for the week was, overall, excellent. NCL is the ONLY CL that we will use MAIN DINING for Breakfast daily and occasionally for Lunch. Food quality THE SAME AS YEARS AGO; we cannot say the same about our recent years' experience with RCCL Oasis and Quantum Classes (great ships)(also, just our own experience). FOOD REPUBLIC was again a SURPRISE FAVORITE for Lunch on Sea Days and a Dinner. So MANY ASIAN CHOICES, UNIQUE SAUCES AND SPICING and great presentation and venue, we didn't even try our typical Sushi until our last visit. IT WAS THAT GOOD ALL WEEK. CAGNEY'S was, as usual, CAGNEY'S. Two dinners as we had to try both the Lamb and the Fillets with a salad and/or shrimp cocktail (STILL JUMBO versus recent RCCL Chops that came in Martini glass on ice with the 31-40 in a bag size). SERVICE EXCELLENT. TIMING REQUESTED (acknowledge if a show or not and speed or desired courses not overlapping). BAYAMO'S was A SHOCK. The MENU we downloaded when planning and some of the reviews a while back were not good. THE MENU WAS COMPLETELY NEW. And it was REALLY GOOD. We had a hard time picking what appetizers to try (yes, I know you can have whatever you want, but I'm a 145lbs for a reason) but I PICKED A WINNER IN THE ALASKAN KING CRAB LEGS. I was shocked to see A PLATE OF ABOUT 15 SLICED HALF CRAB LEGS piled up and well presented. Honestly, so good and so much I thought of cancelling the entree. I didn't. I had the 2nd from the top seafood entree of Red Snapper, half a Lobster Tail and Grilled Whole Prawns. IT WAS HUGE. I ate the Snapper as I don't have much access to that at home. It was a sweet as Sea Bass. I ate it all. Looking at the tail I felt guilty to leave it and had just a couple of bites; NEEDED NO BUTTER OR SOLD, PERFECTLY COOKED AND RESTED. The same for my wife's beef fillet. LACUCINA and LE BISTRO we did not try. We HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT LACUCINA'S improvements. Wife won't go to Le Bistro with the casino smoke overflow. GARDEN CAFE - Never went. BARS - In the VIBE so not an issue for constant service. Pretty fast at most venues. A GREAT PLACE TO HAVE DRINKS PRE-DINNER IS IN THE OVERSIZED LEATHER CHAIRS LOOKING OUT THE GLASS AT THE DISTRICT BREWHOUSE. The also have a FULL BAR LIQUOR AND WINE MENU, it's just not well advertised. Absolutely gorgeous and relaxing venue to just chill. SO OVERALL, didn't make it to Bermuda by NCL Escape made for GREAT WEEK, it's a beautiful and beautifully maintained ship with a GREAT CREW. WILL TRY FOR BERMUDA AGAIN. Read Less

To avoid Florence we cruised to cape Canaveral and GSC instead of Bermuda. Captain Giovanni did a remarkable job keeping us safe! He totally avoided rough seas. Each day was beautiful in the 80's and very calm seas. We missed nassau to give us 3 days to return. But as they said, "the ship is the destination". And it certainly was. No kids to speak of on the cruise since school started. Just a few toddlers. That's why I always cruise when school is in session. The escape has a couple of new venues. Food republic and tapas. Both were excellent! Great sushi at food republic. Had lunch there twice. Tapas had wonderful small plates. Had the lamb sticks and they were excellent. Try the dates wrapped in bacon! Delicious! Prices were very reasonable. quality of food and service at main dining rooms was great. Cagney had the same quality of food as the main dining. Not impressed. In fact the lobster bisque had a very odd flavor and I couldn't eat it. Had a lobster at the seafood restaurant. It was just ok. But everything else was wonderful. District brew house was a nice place to relax, read and have a beer. I never eat at the buffet on any cruise so I can't comment here. Saw the dinner show choir of men. Great show! Served beef Wellington which was very good. Well worth the price. I didn't care for the brat pack. Not my cup of tea but the performers were very talented. The story line was weird. But all other shows were very good. Wine lovers was ok. I really don't care for wine so I guess this was my bad. I had the UDP but I only have one drink a day so this was a waste, but it was free. My cabin Stewart was wonderful! My room was always made up when I returned. The staff on the entire ship were happy, friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Even though we missed our original port and missed nassau I must say this was the most enjoyable cruise I've had. Btw... This was my 15 th cruise (most on NCL) and I usually cruise solo. I'm 69 yrs old. Read Less

My first cruise was a gift from my daughter and my son in law. At first I was nervous never having been on a cruise. I loved it, all of it was great. Everything was so clean and the staff was always so polite, and helpful. We are already planning another one for 2020. All the food was delicious and the drinks. We saw a movie a show and did so much. I truly loved it. Our destination was Bermuda. Such a beautiful place my daughter would tell me of her past trips but seeing was believing. My grandsons 1st trip to the beach and he too enjoyed it. Never a dull moment there is always something to do on this ship. It's why I enjoyed it so much. I like that there was something for every age young children, teens and adults. The children's programs were great kept them entertained which isnt easy these days. Read Less

Our cruise ship was suppose to go to Bermuda. Unfortunately, so was Hurricane Florence. Norwegian Cruise Line made the correct decision to divert our ship to New England and Canada. What a great cruise!! The weather was perfect in the upper 60’s and lower 70’s. The seas were calm and the excursions were plentiful to select from. Halifax, Nova Scotia was amazing. We visited the Fairview Cemetery where 151 victims of the Titanic disaster are buried. Such a humbling experience!!! We also learned about the great explosion in Halifax in 1917. Peggy’s Cove is a must see and great souvenir shopping there. In Sydney, Nova Scotia we enjoyed a very festive live fiddle show. In Saint John, New Brunswick we went to see the Reversing Rapids and learned about the high tide from the ocean pushing back the river!! Beautiful marigolds were planted in the middle of the highway by the school students. Our last stop was in Bar Harbor, Maine. We took a tour to Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain. Such a breathtaking view and excellent photo shots!!! To end our day, we ate lobster at the West St. Cafe, highly recommended by the ship and locals!! Oh my goodness, we ended our trip with triple chocolate cake!!! Norwegian Cruise Line took great care of us. I also loved the casino on the ship and all of the delicious meals they served to us!! Could not have asked to be treated any better. Thank you Norwegian Dawn for some of the best memories of my life!! Read Less

I have had great experiences with Norwegian. We found the night before we were leaving that due to the hurricane our itinerary was NOT going to be Bermuda. We were disappointed but we did not that ruin our cruise. Our trip was paid for and we made the best of it.It is in the contract that they can change the itinerary. The ports in Canada we really nice and staff on the ship was great. Especially the bar servers on the pool deck. I have nothing negative to say about this vacation. The food was excellent in all the restaurants we ate in, entertainment was great, and our cabin & steward were excellent. He was very attentive to our needs and on top of it.I just wished those who upset about the itinerary change read their contracts and were grateful that Norwegian kept us safe from hurricane Florence. I wouldn't let this prevent me from booking with Norwegian again. Read Less

The Norwegian Escape is huge! We felt like the highlights were: the Thermal Suite (we spent many hours relaxing in the amenities here), the amazing professional entertainment & shows were the best we have ever experienced on a ship, and the many choices to eat. We don't like the crowds at the buffet and use it only when in a hurry, but the MANY options for eating were great. We also loved Bermuda...the amazing beaches, scooters around the island, incredible caves, shopping, ferry and bus transportation was easy. We couldn't really enjoy the pools because it was just too crowded on such a large ship with great weather. The huge screens were a great way to keep the energy and fun going from the center of the ship with games and entertainment. But, we also enjoyed the quiet of sitting and eating outside our lounging on the couches. The was really one of our favorite cruises and we've taken many. Read Less
