Disappointing Breakaway

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

Just getting back from out 3rd Breakaway Cruise in three years, and I had to come to this site to comment. I am sorry to say with each year, my love for this ship has diminished. There was a 2 hour boarding delay because a few passengers from the prior sailing were "stow a-ways" and couldn't be found. We were given numbers to board the ship, but this did nothing to avoid, confusion, yelling, ...

Okay, here goes. Cabin was a mini-suite; very spacious with a good sized bathroom, very comfy king-sized bed and a small balcony. Enough storage for 2 people and belongings. However, walls were VERY thin; could hear our neighbors alarm clock go off! Never had a bad meal, whether the buffet or included restaurants. Never had to wait to eat, and always had exceptional service. Very ...

We previously sailed on Norwegian gem and had a wonderful time, couldn't wait to go again. Breakaway was horrible. Cabin with balcony small with poor layout. Carpet old and dirty. Vacuums must not exist on this ship. Comforter stained, hair on pillows, balcony sandy and muddy. Only one complementary show until the end. Not much to do if you don't gamble. Boring ship and food ok. Drinks good. ...

Don't waste you valuable time on NCL

We sailed on Breakaway 3 months after it launched, and returned to be very disappointed this last cruise. Actually, we really enjoyed our first cruise on the Breakaway and thought it really was a good value, but all has changed. We also sailed on the Gem in July, and though the food was very good, and after having a bad cruise on RCL in March, though the Gem was many levels above. The Breakaway ...

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

Our cruise was a week Boston to Bermuda to Boston and then the Eastern Seaboard to Quebec City. The cruise ports were great. The refurbished Dawn was lovely. Cabin Steward was amazing as were other staff members. Other than this I was very disappointed with the service from NCL right from the get go. We were given incorrect information at time of booking. Cruise consultants dropped our file ...

Terrible Customer Service and Terrible Gosling Sunset Rum Cruise

Reason of choice: my aunt chose it for their 50th anniversary. Pros: cabin floor 5 bigger hallways and bigger rooms than floor 11 (small hallways like a maze. Smaller rooms). Our housekeeper was fantastic. Left us tips on sticky notes, clean bed and fresh ice every time he cleaned 2 x a day. Him and the cruise director (entertaining)and cruise director assistant (entertaining) were the best ...

Too many people for a premium price!

People I work with told me it was a great ship to sail on. So I went on that. First off: this cruise has way too many people on board and less activities (such as late shows) for the price we paid. There is something in the range 4000 passengers. Someone on the ship said that their are 4800? But that must include the 1800 staff as well. Well, you do the math 1800 staff to 4000 passengers? So do ...

Prepare for lines and mediocrity

We chose this cruise because it was an easy drive (less than 2 hours) to NYC as well as diverse activities that would meet everyone's needs/desires. The 1.5 hour wait in a long line to board the ship was very much indicative of what the week was going to feel like. Throngs of people all jockeying to try and score an advantage over the next person. For example, in order to get chairs by the pool ...

Trip from NYC to Bermuda - Much too crowded, takes almost 3 days to arrive & half the time to return. Reservation systems sucks, dropped off everything we thought we had in the bag (restaurants, shows, etc., before boarding). Towels were soiled, couple we travelled with had ants in their bed. Food is extremely salty and alcoholic drinks very weak. They have the nerve to charge $5.50 for a ...

NCL Booze Cruise...not a family affair!

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the NCL Breakaway cruise from NYC to Bermuda. My wife and I have cruised NCL once before on a 3 night weekend getaway out of Ft. Lauderdale to the Bahamas and thought it was an extended booze cruise. Since it was our first time on NCL we chalked it up to the fact that it was only a 3 night cruise and not endemic of the cruise line. Well after ...
