Big ship – Crowded – Need advance Reservation for most of the shows

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

Cruised from Sun Jun 11 thru 18 2017, stayed in 11679. The primary reason we chose this ship was, it is one of the newest and biggest, and the rope course and water slides on deck 18. Would like to share our opinion/tips/experience to those who are considering this ship: • Norwegian won’t allow outside drinking (bottled) water onboard and you have to buy it (and it’s expensive too). Other ...

I chose this cruise due to ease of access for us and price versus other options. We had read many reviews but chose to experience Breakaway for ourselves. First impressions were shot when we went first to our cabin. There were no signs telling us it was not ready. Upon entering we found the bed poorly made, floors not vacuumed, and an unfinished drink in the fridge. Just not well made up. Went to ...

Although for me a very relaxing cruise, I have been on the NCL Breakaway a few times. Unfortunately the shows are the same from year to year. The food appears to have scaled down from prior years. The crew is always nice and courteous. I stayed in a cabin facing the front crew deck below the bridge. Unfortunately i found out that there is a bar and lounge area for the crew when were docked in ...

Beautiful ship, non-friendly staff

Very easy and timely embarkation. Ship is beautiful and mini suite was spacious and comfortable but the balcony was very small. Large bathroom with double sink making it easier. Overall the staff on this ship seemed that they would rather be somewhere else. Have traveled on many NCL ships and we found this very unusual and disappointing that they were not more friendly and helpful. ...

This is our first time on Norwegian Cruise Ship, we have done Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Liked Carnival and Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships better, did not care for Norwegian Breakaway Cruise Ship. Too many people, the pool and whirl pools were always crowded and no place to sit. The ship nickeled and dime you. Everything that we did we had to reserve it. This is a free style cruise, no set time ...

We normally cruise with NCL ,was our first time on one of their larger ships. They seem to have lost their way.Layout of ship poor, bars and entertainment venues poorly utilised resulting in overcrowding in Atrium area.No ocean view venue for seating in poor weather.Sundeck around pools shaded, sundecks quite exposed.Buffet menu lacks variety and quality.Bar entertainment quite loud.We had a mini ...

Big, loud, crowded, and smokey

This ship is for people that like crowds, noise, and smoke. NCL's new generation of ships are disappointing to me. I find it interesting that the Breakaway and other large NCL ships are the lowest rated by customers in the NCL fleet. The elegance of cruising is gone from the Breakaway. Rock of Ages is a vulgar show. Second City isn't funny. Freestyle???? Why do passengers need to make ...

Living in NY meant no flying and date of sailing fit in with my upcoming birthday (tomorrow). First time on Breakaway, but not with NCL. We found that descriptions did not always match reality. A lot of "hype" in some cases such as saying with vegetables and getting a total of 6 peas and carrots!!!! Food in Savor, Taste, and theme lunch buffets in Moderno on sea days were excellent along ...

Very disappointed in the Breakaway experience, as a 55+ traveler. Loved Bermuda

Enjoyed: entertainment &music by Manhattan Band, Avon & Emily, Burn the floor(dance show). Food - Filet at Cagney, Teppanyaki. Room- larger showers & fun folded towels on bed. Disappointed in: Food was diner-like,or less quality, in the "free" eating areas. Only One pool for general public...obviously an overcrowded area. Floor 7 (public area) was filled with cigarette smoke. Too many ...
