We found the Trip a great experience, the crew friendly professional and helpful at any time .The food and beverages of high quality and selection. The selection of stops for swimming excellent. The stop for Sardinia,-Porto Cervo a waste of time. Bonifacio a great location. Also we enjoyed the mix of people on the boat and the occasion of meeting Mr. Stephen Winter who gave us an insight on the cruise business in general and the Le Potent concept in particular. All in All nothing to complain about except two small issues: - The introduction after coming on board held in english was very poor and the information given was only a fraction of the same in French. This needs to be improved. - The beds are simply too small and this could eb improved by having them facing the wall on side as it would be perfectly OK just to enter from one side or the foot end. This was our fourth cruise via Star Clippers and a disappointment. Our accommodations were fine and the overall service was great, especially in the dining room. The Hotel Manager (Arnold Deutchl) was exceptionally helpful and competent. Unfortunately the Cruise Director (Monica) was only interested in promoting excursions and next year's cruises. She was unwilling or incapable of providing information about the ports of call along the way. As a result, available shore activities had to be scouted out after docking, limiting enjoyment of the ports. Expensive access to low speed internet service made it difficult to research destinations in advance. (The cost and availability of internet access on board is a disgrace in this connected age). The ship Captain was ill most of the time and remained aloof. The Sports Team did very little except conduct morning yoga exercises and mast climbing events. The crew in general was not as friendly and happy as we have experienced in the past. We will avoid this cruise line in the future since the quality of the service has apparently deteriorated. Having intended to book a Seabourn cruise, I was offered an alternative option on the Azamara Quest by the cruise agent, so went with it. Well what a great surprise this ship turned out to be. Fot whatever reason ( not really sure why) but we had been updated to a suite with a butler, good start. Even without the upgrade we really enjoyed our cruise along the south of France and Italy, the ports of call were beautiful, what was nice about this cruise is that you had plenty of time in port so no rushing about to get back on board. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The all inclusive drinks package is great. I have to say that we were not pushed to buy any upgrade drinks packages, or made to stand for photos that we did not want. The food in the main dining room was of a great standard. The speciality restaurants were good especially Aqualinia. Prime C was good but felt the service was way over the top. The ship itself is lovely, good quality sun beds, nice traditional decor throughout. The age on board was a good mix and the night club was often busy. I have to admit that we did not got to any of the shows inside, but we did enjoy the white night on deck and a local tennor sang whilst we were in Italy. Every one enjoyed the azamazing evening in Monte Carlo. Free shuttle buses were provided in ports that required it. Only problem was breakfast in the main dining room, it took ages and then we did get our food some of what we ordered was missing. The windows cafe provided a buffet service which although not huge was adequate. Overall this cruise is fab if like us you are fed up of the hustle and bustle of the bigger ships. Well done Azamara we will defiantly be sailing again with you. Read Less
