a side view of royal caribbean international's freedom of the seas cruise ship

(10:25 a.m. EST) – After a 24-day dry dock at the Grand Bahama Shipyard, Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas returned to service this week with new restaurants and cabins onboard.

Among specialty dining options new to the ship are: the Mexican restaurant Sabor; Chops Grille: The New American Steakhouse, which features a revamped menu offering dry-aged steak options; the Italian eatery Giovanni's Table; and Johnny Rockets, the 50s-style hamburger and milk shake joint.

Also new is the R Bar Lounge, with its 1960s vibe and signature cocktails.

An additional 67 cabins also have been added to the ship, including new panoramic oceanview cabins located atop the front of the ship. Floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall windows give the cabins their panoramic quality.

The first of the line's Freedom class of ships, Freedom of the Seas is Royal Caribbean's largest ship sailing from Port Canaveral; it sails seven-night Caribbean roundtrip itineraries.
