Celebrity Cruise Ship Loses Running Water

December 20, 2013
(12:10 p.m.) -- Celebrity Infinity passengers went without running water for a little more than five hours yesterday, which limited passenger access to drinking water, working toilets and showers.

"Yesterday, at approximately 6:30 p.m. Celebrity Infinity experienced an issue with one of the ship's water pipes," Cynthia Martinez, director of global corporate communications for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., told Cruise Critic. "In order to repair the pipe, it was necessary to shut off the water to decks six and above." RCCL is the parent company of Celebrity Cruises.

"During this time, crew members were providing affected cabins with bottled water."

Water was restored, she said, at 11:45 p.m.
