Tropical Storm Could Form Near Florida

July 5, 2006

Showers and thunderstorms located around the Bahamas and southeastern Florida could be favorable for storm development over the next few days, according to the National Hurricane Center. If so, the system would be expected to move westward into the Gulf of Mexico.

Should a storm gain tropical-level speeds, it would be called Beryl. It would be the second named storm of this young hurricane season.

As always, Cruise Critic will be monitoring conditions -- and any possible changes to cruise itineraries -- throughout the week and weekend.
