Review for a Cruise to Nowhere Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

This was my first time cruising with Norwegian. I have been on Royal Caribbean and Carnival in the past, and never thought Norwegian was good enough based on what I've read and heard from others. My secretary swears by Norwegian and has cruised with them many times, and my January vacation plans got messed up with timing, leaving me limited to a quick weekend getaway on Breakaway. I've heard so ...

We arrived at the pier around 11:30 on Friday. The security lines moved quickly and off to check-in we went. We used our NJ driver’s license as our photo ID and this worked fine. I did note that people next to us used passports which get swiped, so using a passport speeds your check-in a bit. Driver’s license needs all digits manually typed in. It had been announced that boarding would begin at ...

As experienced cruisers with 30+ sailings on a mix of many mass-market lines, and a handful of luxury ones, we booked Breakaway’s 2-night cruise-to-nowhere out of Manhattan on Super Bowl 2014 Friday-Sunday. Check-in was efficient, but embarkation was inefficient and confused, perhaps because NCL’s normal venue at Pier 88 was usurped by “The Bud Light Hotel” (aka the Norwegian Getaway) that ...

I have been on many cruises, but none in recent years. This was our first trip on the NCL Breakaway! I gave this to my husband for Christmas because I wanted more experiences instead of the usual "gifts". It was a wonderful gift - lots of before and after cruise talk! We will be back! We arrived to the pier around 11:30 or so. We paid our $40 per night to park for convenience purposes! Check in ...

I always try to go on a yearly Carnival cruise to nowhere when they have it out of NYC. For years it was on the Miracle and every one was great except the last one in 2011 where the crew so obviously didn't give a sh.. it soured me a bit on Carnival. Last year they skipped this cruise for the first time in years but brought it back this year with the Glory. I am certainly glad they did. this time ...

This was our 4th CTN with 2 very recent ones on NCL Jewel and Gem, and Carnival Victory a few years back. Our 2 NCL CTN's were in the Winter, so this was a nice change taking a CTN in August as we spent the entire 2nd day at sea in the sun. Was very hard to find a lounge chair to sun due to the beautiful sunny weather and literally all 3,000 passengers were out there. Lets get the meat and ...

Just a little background first,my DW and I have been cruising for 10 years and have been on 8 cruises. We have only been on Carnival and Norwegian. We were on the Norwegian Jewel 2 years ago and are scheduled for the Gem in April. Being we were on the Jewel a short time ago we didn't need to do to much exploring. The ship is designed well. It's easy to find your way around. We arrived at the ...

A group of 6 of us booked this cruise last minute. It was such a deal. anyways... it was our first time cursing. Funny, we all swore we would never get on a cruise even if we won one. Haha... well.. here we are, booked one! My partner & I had an amazing time. Everything is open! This made me happy-- Everything was open. I was talking to one of the crew memebers... he said we cram a 9 day cruise ...
