This was our first cruise. We left out of NO on April 7, 2012 for 7 night Western Caribbean cruise. Sailed on Voyager of the Seas. Our embarkation was very smooth. We were sitting by the pool by 12:00. We did not get our luggage before dinner but we had packed our carryons accordingly. So much easier than boarding a plane. We were very impressed with RCI.
Visited Falmouth, Jamaica; Grand Cayman ...
We just returned from a 7 night cruise that left out of New Orleans on St. Patrick's day. First and foremost, New Orleans is an amazing port to leave and return to! There is so much to do in the city and so many places to visit! I highly recommend the excursion offered at the end of the cruise. It is a city tour of New Orleans and very much worth the money to do! Actually, it is cheaper than ...
We arrived at the port early, around 11AM, having checked with the cruise line prior that it would be okay to drop off our suitcases so we could roam around Riverwalk prior to our cruise. Well, we were hustled through and before you knew it we were in line for the security check point. Reading that you couldn't board until 1, I didn't want to sit there for 2 hours waiting. The man assured me that ...
We took the 3/3 sailing out of New Orleans to the Western Caribbean and overall had a wonderful time. We flew in the day before and stayed 1 night at the Hilton Garden Inn, which had a good location to the French Quarter. The hotel was decent, nothing spectacular. The room definitely had a temperature problem. Despite how low we set the thermostat, it was pretty warm. Also, there was a ...
Best Family Vacation Ever
Our family just returned from a New Orleans spring break cruise on the Voyager of the Seas. Collectively, our family decided this was our best cruise and vacation ever! The cruise was not without its problems, but we truly enjoyed our time on the ship
This is our 5th cruise on Royal Caribbean and our second on Voyager (previously in 2008 out of Galveston). Because ...
First, a little perspective. My wife and are in our mid 40s and not big partiers. We like to keep active. Keep that in mind while reading this review.
Embarkation. This was my first cruise out of New Orleans and I found this to be frustrating. There was a huge cheerleader competition going on the day we left and there were about a million people driving and walking around downtown, so it ...
Since we live in the Northeast we flew into New Orleans on Friday morning prior to embarkation. We arrived around 12:30, checked in and were able to explore New Orleans that day and evening. That was fine although I am not in any rush to return to that area.
Boarding
On Saturday we checked out of hotel and were on board by 12:00. Very smooth embarkation. Good Job Royal Caribbean!! Lines ...
This was our sixth cruise overall and our fourth with Royal Caribbean. We traveled with my wife's parents (first timers,) our two daughters, ages 17 and 20, and their 20-year old friend. We haven't cruised in six years, so I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews listed here. I was expecting the food to be like an Old Country Buffett and this ship to look rather shabby. I do ...
We had fourteen members of our family going on this cruise, we all live in the northern part of Mississippi so we drove to New Orleans on the morning of embarkation. We arrived at the port around 11:30, checked in and all on board by 12:30. Very smooth embarkation. Good Job Royal Carribean!!
My family had 2 cabins (7294 and 7295), one balcony and one inside room overlooking the promenade. The ...
We just returned from seven-day Caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas. My wife and I (ages 65) took my daughter, her husband and our three grandsons -- ages 14, 12 and 10 on this cruise that left from New Orleans on March 31, 2012.
We chose this cruise because we could drive to New Orleans rather than fly seven people to New Orleans. We had three staterooms -- two balcony ...
