Embarkation was great but disembarkment was terrible. Part of the problem was a lack of organization with the bus transportation from Mobile.

Didn’t really explore city beforehand. We parked at an outside facility that drove us into the port. Was pretty easy.

We ate red beans and rice, boudin balls and remoulade, gumbo and more! We even made our way to a quirky little comedy club that turned out to be some sort of training venue for comedians...The New Movement. It was.......weird. We were the only paying customers in attendance (the rest of the audience was comprised of fellow comedians/students?) but they made us feel welcome and we laughed a lot. Not bad for $8/person. Left and returned from New Orleans. Really need more time there. The cruise added an included tour. The World War II museum. Definitely a must see place. Downside, we only had two hours there. Not enough time. Some on tour opted to get back to the ship on their own and were able to stay at the museum longer. The other included tour was Oak Alley plantation. We were told this was nice. Unfortunately could not do both. Read Less

First time in New Orleans and we had a great time, even in the rain. Bourbon street was amazing and I am glad I was able to experience Mardi Gras at least once in my life, checked it off my bucket list.
