Good and bad

We choose this cruise, to see Havana, as it was docked for two night followed by several islands. Good : We had a all inclusive, so the unlimited drinks were great. The food variety at dinner was ample. Embarkation was good. Cabins were fine, mattress was fine, storage space was fine. Staff were nice. Bad: Saltiest food I have ever tasted, blech ! We were rushed at ...

First MSC Cruise; a Little Disappointing

We are a british couple that flew from London to Havana on 10/02/16, we went to Varadero & spent 6 nights at the Blau Varadero before joining the MSC Opera. We knew the ship wasn't due to dock until around 3pm from the previous weeks' cruise & had heard that people flying in & arriving before 18.30 were not able to get on board, so we decided to stay at our hotel for the day & booked our cab ...

MSC Opera ....A Unique Experience...??

I will start by saying this is my very first time writing a review and felt it necessary as this cruise experience was different than any other of the 14 cruises I have taken. We were quite excited to be getting this cruise at a great price with the Canadian dollar being so low and the itinerary looked amazing....which it was! Havana was absolutely beautiful with 2 days to explore this ...

After Many Cruises ...

This was supposed to be something different, and special since we would get to see Havana. In fact, there were a lot of disappointments, from the get-go. Somehow, our overall trip included the "drinks package", so that was great thing (first time ever that we took such a package). Before cruise communication with MSC was impossible: many emails, many attempts at phone calls, nothing ...

First , I will comment on the good. The ship is lovely, the entertainment is great, the service in the L'Approdo Restaurant superb, Sotto Vento Pub, great servers but very slow in getting service due to lack of help. We ordered sandwiches once and waited over an hour, so we left. Our cabin was very nice with balcony. Service was non existant with the cabin boy. He left our drink glasses and ...

My wife and I went on an MSC Carribean Cruise, the Cuba Special Cruise, from December 22nd to December 28th, 2015. On December 22nd when we arrived at Rome Fiumicino Airport we were welcomed by three very nice young ladies who helped us to carry out the check-in procedures. So far so good, but as soon as we reached our gate the ordeal started. The Meridiana flight, coming from Milan, that MSC had ...

This was our 8th cruise but the first on MSC. Have to say I was disappointed. The first thing that was upsetting was that to cash in your US American Express travelers checks to play in the casino, they charge 3%. I told them none of the other lines we/ve been on do that. Answer: thats how its done in Europe" "Its the home office policy." They sure don't warn you on this when you book with them. ...

MSC Opera March 19 to 26, 2005. Our original room was 7161 Inside room (13 meters), 25% smaller than the typical inside rooms on other cruise ships. This posed a problem since we had an infant with us requiring a crib (cruise knew at time of booking) which we could not safely put in the room along with a stroller since there was no room for the crib or pack 'n' play to be opened and simultaneously ...

Overall, I was very pleased by my 7-night Western Caribbean cruise aboard the MSC Opera. The ship housed much more than any other ship of her size. The major debate I had become aware of prior to my cruise was the ethnic and cultural differences than typical cruises from the competitive American lines. At first, I thought the announcements and instructions would become an annoyance being ...

This is a review of the MSC Opera. ABOUT US - We have taken about 20 cruises since 9/11 on Princess, NCL, Carnival, Celebrity, and Holland America. This is our first MSC cruise. Our interests are dancing, exercise, entertainment, beach access snorkeling, and, of course, food. We are not interested in gambling, buying drinks ( we carry our own on board), and shore excursions (preferring to take ...
