Did not take an excursion this time. Took a cab to the shopping area. It is a long cab ride to the shopping area. It was nice to walk around. We didn't buy anything this trip (we have in the past). Ship leaves at 1:30 so there is not much time in the port. ...

The shops and such at the port are okay. There's not much on offer, but you can get your basic Bahamas souvenirs and your umbrella drinks. From the port, you can take a taxi into the Port Lucaya area, where there's more shops, and a great beach area. ...

Freeport - Again, no excursions. We got off the ship and went to the straw market. We also took a taxi to Port Lucaya marketplace, where we shopped. The straw market was pretty much the same, but they had some more jewelry stores. There was a beach there somewhere, but we didn't go and we heard it was windy and not great for laying out. Then cabbed back to the port, wondered around the market ...

We did not plan an excursion for Freeport, but decided to enjoy the shopping available at the cruise port. There are quite a few options there ranging from well-known establishments like Senor Frog, to local vendors. A central area with picnic tables makes a nice spot to rest or have a snack and enjoy the view and music. After shopping in the morning, we returned to the ship for lunch and spent ...
