The port did have some nice shops to visit. We did not eat at this port. The straw markets were okay. There was only about 12 shops and they all had the same thing like normal. The straw markets sellers were more pushy about selling their product then any market I have ever been to before. The taxi line is unorganized and the ride is 20 mins to the shops and market.

Get off the boat and go to La Kaya (?) resort area. walk around check out the beach and casino. Great little shops and cafes. This is the last stop and you will be at sea for the return home.

We took a taxi to Port Lucaya for some shopping and visited the beach there. Our taxi driver was named Shirley and she was wonderful. She told us some of the history of the island and had a small quiz for the kids on the ride. When she picked us back up she asked the kids what they remembered from the quiz she had given them. We were suppose to go to their private island but could not tender in due to the weather. Our substitute port was the Freeport repair dock and fuel farm. A taxi ride to town that had nothing. At least I was able to get a decent drink at the bar at the port. ...
Not much to do but shop at the market with all the same things. You can also cross the street and go to the beach. It was $25 to rent chairs. You can venture into town but the taxis were expensive (I was told). We did like talking to the locals.
