We booked this cruise as a quick getaway and because we needed one more night to obtain next status (Platinum) as a Crown & Anchor member. We arrived a day early and stayed at the Harbour Beach Marriott. Very nice hotel - located right on the beach - but food is pricey. Happy hour M-F offers 1/2 price appetizers. Our room had a view of the ocean and the cruise port. The hotel is a short walk to the Days Inn restaurant - located on the inter coastal and had a great breakfast for $4.99. Also an easy walk to Beach Place with more restaurants and shopping.

We arrived approx 11:15 am at the port and check in was easy. The ship had not cleared customs, but RCCL personnel kept everyone informed and comfortable as we waited to board. We had recently sailed Freedom of the Seas (only 6 months prior) so were familiar with the ships layout. Once on-board, reacquainted ourselves with the layout, visited Cafe Promenade and Sorrento's for a light lunch. Sorrento's has various items for a 'do it yourself' salad - and we enjoyed that option. We did find it challenging to find grilled chicken (or most any protein) to put on a salad. We do enjoy these two restaurants options for food/snacks when the Windjammer offerings are unappealing. This was the first cruise we did not go to any shows or formal dinner. Formal night we enjoyed a very quiet sunset dinner at Johnny Rockets. We may have started a new tradition. My husband visits the gym regularly for weight lifting and cardio, I prefer the deck for running/walking. Early morning is best to avoid crowds. This particular week had a few spring breakers, but they weren't too disruptive. Liberty is a beautiful ship, we found the crew to be friendly and helpful. The same cruise director was on this ship as on Freedom 6 months previously - James. Don't miss the Dreamworks parade - even if you don't have kids this one is fun. Also enjoyed the Disco party in the promenade. The sail away party was lacking as was the White Night party - just no real party atmosphere and the cruise director was missing from the festivities.

Debarkation was not as smooth as we have previously experienced. We waited with other gold passengers, were off by 9:00 am or so, and the line was long and winding line through the luggage. It seemed a bit disorganized.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

Cabin 9690 - OV Balcony - standard balcony cabin, away from traffic and noise. Quiet area aft - port side. We stayed approximately the same place Starboard side on Freedom OTS Sept 2011. Cabin is fine for 2 - I don't know how families do it!
