Modern Luxury at its Finest!

Sail Date: December 2011
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami
We had sailed on the Celebrity Infinity ten years ago for our 10th wedding anniversary. We chose the Celebrity Eclipse as part of our 20th anniversary celebration. The ship and our overall experience did not disappoint!

We had a Concierge Class cabin and were extremely happy with it. Our cabin stewards were excellent. They were very responsive. It seemed like every time we left the cabin, they came in and cleaned it!

The ship's staff was very visible, including the senior officers. We had the opportunity to talk with the Cruise Director, Hotel Director, Restaurant Manager, Training and Development Manager and Customer Relations Manager. They were all very friendly and really wanted to know if we were enjoying the cruise. The Restaurant Manager actually remembered us from 10 years ago!

The food was excellent. The Oceanview Cafe was designed very well, so that it never felt crowded. The selection of different cuisines from around the world was More outstanding. Everything was fresh and tasty. We dined at Qsine, which is an experience not to be missed. We came hungry, which was smart! The staff helped us select from the extensive menu. The presentation of the various courses was amazing. And, everything tasted great.

The new addition of Cellar Masters is ingenious. We were able to sample so many different wines, which made it reasonable from a cost perspective. The staff was knowledgeable and honest, which we appreciated.

We had been to San Juan and St. Maarten on prior cruises and vacations, but enjoyed them this time too. In San Juan, we took the ship's excursion to the Bacardi Rum Factory. While we're not generally big rum drinkers, we now have a new appreciation for how rum is made! We went on our own to the French side of St. Maarten (St. Martin) for some beach time at Orient Bay. We hadn't been to St. Kitts and took the ship's snorkeling excursion, which also included a beach barbeque lunch on Nevis. The tour company was fantastic. The food and drink were great and the staff made the day extra fun.

The Solstice class ships really meet the new Celebrity motto of "Modern Luxury." It's easy to see why they are becoming so popular, and why Celebrity is "solsticizing" other ships in the fleet. We are looking forward to another cruise on Celebrity! Less
