We have sailed on Norweigian before, but it had been many years back. I received an invitation from the casino company for a "complimentary" cruise. After checking with the cruise line and determining how much it would cost to cruise this ship (taxes & port charges), we decided to make our plans. The personnel I spoke with during this process were all very pleasant and helpful. The ship is huge, but we never really felt crowded, EXCEPT for At Sea days when you tried to find a lounge chair for the day. When a chair was located it was SO close to the one next to it you felt like you were sitting on top of the person next to you. The chairs were nice and reclined flat which we like. The bar service on the pool deck was good and the entertainment was good. The food served on the ship was average. There seemed to be a nice selection of things in the Garden Cafe. We dined at Cagney's Steakhouse (an extra $20 each) and was disappointed in the quality of the meal served there. We could have basically had the same steak in the main dining room. We attended the Cirque Dreams dinner/show and it was very enjoyable. It was well worth the extra money.
Now for the cabin. It was a nice room, clean, and ready for our occupancy but poorly laid out. The bathroom sink is located IN the living/bedroom area of the cabin. If one of us got out of bed earlier than the other and wanted to brush our teeth we woke the other person up. There was no way to block the sink from the bed. The shower/water closet could be separated by a curtain, but that didn't mask the noise. In our opinion this was a poorly designed cabin for people on vacation. Our cabin steward was very attentive and made sure our needs were met. We did notice the towels given to us for the shower and for the pool were sometimes very frayed. We felt these towels should have been used for something else besides the guest rooms. For the price paid for a cruise it seems the towels presented for use could be better quality.
The casino staff was wonderful. It was a fun place to be and they were very friendly to us. We enjoyed our time there.
