I have just returned from a cruise round the Adriatic with my daughter and her husband. Normally for this I would book a double room with balcony and a cabin for them with balcony for single occupancy for myself. On this occasion booking with Marella/TUI they would not accept single bookings (for obvious reasons). I found however that by booking through another agent (Iglu) I could have the two balcony cabins. I was slightly concerned when the bookings came through that they were close to the rear. The benefit was that two doors away were lifts to the main dining room. I am 89 and use a wheel chair plus Zimmer frame

The cabins are well appointed and I liked the wood effect panelling and I was well able to use the frame. Fortunately my son-in law was a very able wheelchair handler.

We ate five times in the main dining room (Latitude 53) I have mixed feelings about the food perhaps coloured by my choices. The menu of the Italian section of Latitude 53 was excellent. The evenings in ‘Surf and Turf’ and ‘Kola La’ speciality restaurants were well worth the additional charge.
