First Marella Cruise ,It started badly with a cabin move despite booking a deluxe balcony cabin September 2021 we were moved to an alternative deluxe balcony cabin minus sofa coffee table and fridge offered £50 compensation, for cabin change and £50 per person for missing furniture all added to our ship board account ( on an all inclusive cruise ) which we found very difficult to spend. The food in all of the restaurants except specialty dining was well below the standard we have come to expect throughout 25 years of cruising with Royal Caribbean .Celebrity,Princess and P.O. And caused us on two separate occasions to lodge complaints, The first concerned Grilled fish in 47 Gallery that arrived wet soggy and raw. The second caused our party of four to leave the same restaurant after a wait of 1 hour 40 mins for our main course to arrive. This resulted in a meeting at their request with the catering manager and head chef who were most apologetic.
There was a distinct lack of seating in any of the bars in the evening where it was standing room only and in the absence of seating in our own cabins we were often obliged to retire to bed early. On the flight back home we were allocated standard economy seats after pre booking and paying for specific extra room seats. After numerous fruitless attempts to resolve this issue on board ship and at the airport we finally took matters into our own hands by grabbing our rightful seats and refusing to move on entering the aircraft. We then discovered the same problem had happened to many of our fellow passengers and this resulted in chaos,as the cabin crew and even the pilot tried to resolve, brought on by an apparent system failure.
