This was one of our best cruises to date, because we love the ship and the itinerary is about as good as you can get in the Caribbean (Grand Cayman, Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao). The service on Equinox is top notch and some of the best on any cruise line you will find. The Equinox is a somewhat older ship without a lot of bells and whistles. But it is an elegant ship and laid out well. We had 2700 passengers on board and it did feel a bit crowded at times but it was manageable. Service in the dining rooms for breakfast and dinner was excellent. I thought the food was very good at all venues, but I suppose that is subjective. Some of the fancier food has been cut back a bit (lobster, fancy steaks, etc.) but I did not mind. Vegetarian options were pretty good (there is a separate vegetarian dinner menu). Spa Cafe food is fresh and healthier than the buffet for breakfast and lunch. Entertainment is passable, nothing special. Some fun activities include karaoke with the live band, silent disco, and ABBA and Queen parties. Pete Baker the cruise director is fun and always around the ship greeting guests. The casino was hopping with activity and promotions (even though it was closed for two days due to late stays in Aruba and Curacao). Rooms and bathrooms are spacious, as are the balconies. It is a real treat to be on Celebrity. Yes there have been some cutbacks, as there has been on all lines, but Celebrity still delivers a traditional, elegant cruise experience that in my opinion exceeds the other mainstream lines.

Cabin Review

Sunset Veranda

Enjoyed our sunset verandah. It was a long walk to the back of the ship, but it is worth it for the wake views. We did not experience any soot and it was quiet.

Port Reviews

Aruba

Great snorkeling. Fun and easy to take the bus up the coastline.

Bonaire

Snorkeling is amazing. The best in the Caribbean in my opinion.

Curacao

A beautiful port town to walk around.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Great snorkeling close to port and diving is spectacular (so I am told).
