After reviewing other cruise itineraries, we wanted to make sure we had an intimate experience for our first voyage to Antarctica. Swan Hellenic seemed to have all of our bases covered. Aboard the SH Vega, a new ship, we experienced up to date facilities, restaurants and lounge areas. Our intimate requirement was met by the limited capacity of passengers, fewer than 150, and that it was an expedition cruise meaning that we would be active and participating in excursions on zodiacs and touching the land, mainly the continental peninsula of Antarctica! Everything from the amenities, the friendliness of the staff, the food, and the bar service was exceptional. The Expedition team was constantly working day and night with our captain to make sure they could take advantage of every opportunity for us to be on the water or on land weather permitting. I highly recommend a cruise about the SH Vega traveling with the Swan Hellenic team!
