We wanted to see the Christmas Markets during Christmas an experience the old world during the winter. All of the markets were outstanding, and we were able to learn so much about each of the cities along the Rhine. Viking goes past the term of customer service. The entire staff were always on top of everything. Our cruise started in Basel, Switzerland, which has three possible docks the ship might depart. We showed up three days early and toured the town of Basel. I emailed the ship and within hours the Hotel Manager emailed me back with details of the meeting place. The ship was spacious as well as our cabin. Our cabin attendant "GiGi" was a hoot. All of the meals were excellent, and the staff always delivered with a smile. Like Viking states: "The Thinking Person's Cruise", it is true. We learned and experienced so much along the Rhine and Amsterdam. Oh, no children under 18 which is fine with us.
