We are avid cruisers with over 50 cruises on various lines and 4 star mariners on HAL. This was a HAL cruise in name only. The ship was understaffed in all categories resulting in extremely poor service throughout ship. Most service individuals were not happy to be working to the max which is atypical of our previous HAL cruises. Food quality, availability, portion size, and service in Dining Room and Lido has declined and become more like a Carnival Cruise. Pool areas also suffered from under staffing and the unsupervised younger crowd essentially turned the pools and hot tubs into a private playground as the HAL staff remained silent. Music venues were also subpar which is just the opposite of our previous experiences on HAL ships. Main stage production shows have been the same for the last 4-5 years. Suggest avoiding HAL cruises until they are fully staffed and return to HAL quality in place of the current Carnival Cruise line corporate directives.
