Embarkation, pretty much same as any RCL cruise. Security, meet at counter person to person, review docs, picture, key card, proceed to board.
Stateroom, 9388 balcony, room was beautiful and nicely decorated and designed, nice bed very comfortable, bathroom, largest ever seen in standard balcony. Outstanding shower, large for a cruise ship, 4 way adjustable shower head, burn your skin off hot setting if wanted, very high pressure if adjust past standard stop. Room was unrestricted balcony, but in our opinion was obstructed. One deck above sun deck on 8. Could not see ocean but over deck at a distant. Sun deck could watch our tv with curtain open, no privacy. Asked for room change right away, was told to come back after sailing. Went back to guest services after leaving dock, purser told me ship was “sold out no rooms available”, this was a LIE. My wife went back down and spoke to another purser and was told “no problem, will run it through supervisor and let you know in morning.” Called in am and moved to 12146. Great stateroom, was 2 doors down from mid ship stairway, No noise issues at all!
Dancing, we enjoy dancing, not the ship for that. Crew claims dance floor is in Sid Norman’s, approximately 10x10 concrete non slip floor, Not a dance floor. Also, too crowded for dancing. Atrium best area to dance but no room and carpeted floor. Many made room where able. Asked two pursers to open up floor by moving tables, nothing changed, asked entertainment staff to move tables, still no action taken. People continued to dance around, between and through tables. Dance held on deck, wet with humidity, in theater too crowded other than non couple dance.
