My dream was to cross the ocean in comfort during my lifetime. It was all so easy. Our cabin attendant introduced herself right away and explained that for the next 12 days, we were not to worry about anything. We opted for a suite, and indeed the extra space and amenities made a big difference. Thirty-four drawers for storage and two built-in wardrobes. Very pleased how well the A/C worked. Beds and sofa were very comfortable. The ship itself is well-laid out and very well kept, people say the decor is "dated" but we liked it. We didn't use the elevators; stairs were handy. Plenty of comfortable seating all over. Dining room food and service was very good to excellent. The New York Strip at Chops was the best steak I have ever had, which surprised me! Giovanni's was our least favorite. Izumi the sushi-Japanese venue was excellent. Food was not overly salty at any venue, we appreciated that. The buffet was excellent with outdoor seating on the fan-tail in full sun or under awnings. The All-access ship's tour was very informative, and quite lengthy; the crew member of each department were very passionate and patient. Chef's Table was enjoyable, the wines weren't impressive, but not bad either. Many of the crew were new and still being trained, sometimes this was noticeable but it wasn't a big deal for us. The Captain and officers were very friendly and accessible. Shows and evening entertainment quality varied considerably. The musicians who played sets at different venues throughout the day were excellent. Spa pedicure was very comfortable and professional. Despite a change of itinerary that avoided a developing tropical storm, we experienced a couple of days of rough seas and wind, and felt grateful to the captain for steering us away from worse conditions. A word about the passengers aboard....sad to say that many walked around with frowning faces, not cordial at all. What has happened to make people so miserable? We enjoyed the cruise so much, and felt sad when it ended.
