We had been planning a Rhine River cruise for years, but the pandemic pushed it off for a couple of years, so we were very excited to be finally able to embark on our first river cruise. The ship was lovely, very clean, nicely appointed stateroom with an exceptional amount of storage space, and a washroom that was just big enough. The shower was actually quite large, considering the size of the washroom. The beds was very comfortable.

We got a crazy price for this cruise and as a result, we were able to splurge on a panoramic balcony upgrade. It was very impressive, when you weren't looking into the side of another ship. We often sailed in the early evening/overnight and the only "day sail" was through the Rhine Gorge. I think only twice were we able to enjoy the view from the room while we were docked; the rest of the time we were either face to face with cabins on another ship, or looking straight at a concrete wall. I am glad we booked it, as otherwise I would always feel I had missed out, but if we were to do another river cruise, I would just book the least expensive cabin and be done with it. Really not worth the extra $$$, at least not on this itinerary.

The food was plentiful, and very good. The pasta station at lunch was really fantastic, and always had very flavourful options. The dinner entrees, though, I found alternated between bland and over-salted, with a few very notable exceptions that were fantastic. Service was generally excellent, an overlong wait to have order taken a couple of times and an odd forgotten drink here or there, nothing to fuss about. The bartenders and drink wait staff were excellent.
