How is that even possible? I feel this is almost blasphemy to even criticize DCL, but i was in awe how ordinary the ship. To be clear, I had a good time, but that was due to our kids having a good time, while I gauge the overall DCL experience on their new flagship, the Wish.

I was looking forward to taking our kids on this cruise since last year when we first purchased the tickets. We sat in countless lines, and my wife and I observed couple after couple (many of which came without kids) boast about how magical this ship was. I asked one couple in front of us about their overall cruise experience and they said this was their 25th DCL sailings! Thats quite an accomplishment! I then casually asked have they ever been on an Oasis Class Royal Carribean ship, and they eagerly said no, that they're loyal to DCL...and there in lied the problem; We were just too spoiled with our prior Royal Carribean Oasis line of ships. We in fact couldn't believe that our first RCCL boat from 2012, was just a better ship than this brand new DCL boat. We definitely felt like we were on a boat with The Wish, whereas we might have forgotten so on the Oasis line over at RCCL.

The staterooms did have a great feature of splitting the shower and restroom into two small rooms. Great idea DCL! The service of course was nothing short of amazing. All of our service encounters were spot on flawless. The food...I jokingly asked my wife if this was what food tastes like with Covid?? We both swore we had it simply bc we couldnt taste any flavor. We quickly asked for a coffee to confirm that we do in fact have our taste and didnt lose it to the bug. They were presented beautifully, however the fish tasted like nothing, which was an interesting sensation tbh. The filet mignon was fine, soft and easy to take down, but completely unflavored otherwise. The outside deck had their version of Chipotle except it tastes like they only had salt to season the mexican fast food option. The BBQ options were what I would expect from AppleBees-almost exact to the flavors to that restaurant too. And breakfast options ranged from a typical continental breakfast, to a slightly upgraded hotel lobby lineup.

Cabin Review

We had a ocean view balcony which was nice! the bed coming down from the ceiling was a nice touch that could be stowed away during the day. We loved the restroom separation from the shower so that we never had to get in line for either. Beds and Pillows were great too!
