I chose this cruise because it offered 3 ports on a five day cruise. many other cruises only had two ports. i did understand that carnival isn't as upscale as some other cruise lines but it didn't expect that carnival would have made so many cutbacks and offer poor customer service.

I did choose a luxury cabin ( the captain's suite) for myself and my husband and a spa balcony for my daughter and her boyfriend. both rooms were lovely and we really enjoyed the large balcony in the captain's suite.

We did run in to some problems. the thermal suites which were supposed to be included for spa balcony customers did not work. when my daughter checked on the status and questioned when they would be available the spa manager was very rude. because of this rude behaviour, she cancelled a couple's massage which she pre-paid giving 24 hours advance notice. she has not received a credit. No one will talk to her on the phone and after emailing them she was sent the bill to the room which does not show a charge for this. it did not appear because it was prepaid and carnival already had the money. the email said that the is the final communication carnival will have over the issue with her and her debit card was not credited. She also cannot call them because she lives in france and 1 800 numbers do not work from france. when i tried calling for her ( from canada) i was told that she would have to contact them by email.

Cabin Review

We loved the captain's suite. the sofa and bed were comfortable. there were two tvs and two bathrooms.

The bacolony was extra large and had a table with 4 chairs and 2 lounge chairs. a suggested addition would be a hot tub on the balcony. some other cruise lines have them and considering the cost of this cabin it would have been a welcomed addition.

Port Reviews

Nassau

We went to cabbage beach on paradise island ( nassau port ) and shared the same beach that the atlantis hotel in on. very nice but there were very aggressive people trying to sell us stuff. Some of them are scammers so beware... They may not even own the beach chairs they are trying to rent to you.
