Return to Cruising and 1st STAR Class Experience

Review for the Eastern Caribbean Cruise on Harmony of the Seas

After my father passed, we (my mom, my daughter and I) decided to book a cruise for summer vacation. After years of caring for my dad, my mom decided that she wanted to go big so she wouldn't have to worry about anything, so we booked a 2 bedroom, aqua theater suite (9330). This is a star class suite so nearly everything is included.

Pre-Cruise: We were very concerned about COVID. We had not sailed since January 2020 and my mom hadn't traveled at all since then. We're all fully vaxed and boosted, but with my mother's age (77) we still worry about it. We packed n95 and kn95 masks, clorox travel wipes and hand sanitizer. While we were looking forward to the cruise, it was hard to get excited until we tested negative 2 days before.

We received our initial STAR survey about 6 weeks before sailing and our first email from our Genie about 4 weeks before sailing.

Cabin Review

Aquatheater Suite with Balcony - Deck 9

We were in 9330, a 2 bedroom aqua theater suite. The suite was wonderful and more than enough space for 3 people. The balcony was amazing! Genie service is fantastic!

Pros: Genie service, lots of space & storage, 1 bathroom with tub and 1 with only shower, minibar setup, balcony, beds were very comfortable, view (ocean, Aqua Theater, Boardwalk, etc.)

Cons: farthest end of ship, some furniture was showing age (chipped paint, fraying edges, etc.).

Port Reviews

Perfect Day at CocoCay

We love Coco Cay, but they should not have 2 large, full ships there at the same time. The island was way too crowded, especially the water park.

St. Maarten

We had a relaxing beach day at Great Bay. The cheese shop on the way back to the port was awesome.

St. Thomas

Coki Beach is stunning. Coral World is a nice marine park and the swim with a sea lion was fantastic.
