We had high expectations sailing on Silver Seas for the first time. After 30+ cruises we were finally giving them a try.
Unfortunately embarkation was total chaos, with no one from Silver Seas present outside, lines of people with no idea what to do, poor start.....
The Silver Whisper is showing its age. Cabin design not the greatest with makeup vanity being at the end of the bed, thus when someone is using it you really can't move across the room, TV is awkwardly placed also. You can put your cabin attendant in a Tux and call them a butler, fine, only offer of extra service was unpacking of bags and helping transfer bags at the end of cruise, otherwise it's a Cabin Attendant. Food was hit and miss, sometimes very good, sometimes meh. Service, especially in the bar was top notch. One thing we heard time and again was, "the kitchen is backed up, it may take awhile to get your food". Most dinners in the main dining room we would wait an hour for our main course. Staffing was an issue, welcome to post Covid cruising, same as most service industries.
Good size, great bathrooms, awkward layout.
