Sad to say our recent 10 day cruise on the RMS Ruby Princess was not up to par and will be our first and last experience with Princess. We were with a large group of seasoned Princess cuisers and they were extremely disappointed by this experience. We did not know what to expect, but, based upon feed earlier feedback from them we expected Princess to be on par with lines such as Holland and Celebrity, that we have been sailing with for + 20 years. Well it started with the boarding process, we waited in line for over 2 hours to board the ship. So what was sense of having a boarding time assigned? The new Medallion App and the Princess web site the worst yet I have encountered in over 20 years of cruising. One of our travel companions had to wait in line at the service desk on three separate occasions, at an hour each time, to get it her Medallion usable, the system could not register her on ship and she could not get into her room. The app is nothing more than fluff. The ship was severely understaffed. All the restaurants could not open due to the staffing shortages, consequently there were long lines and wait times for everything. Waited in line 45 minutes for lunch at the buffet, they had only one buffet station open for 3000 passengers! Same issues with the main dinning room! If you ordered a glass of wine at the specialty restaurant it took 30 minutes for the staff to deliver it. The room steward only can to the room once a day, only in the morning, never turned down the bed. We had a Mini suite which gave us some extra room, The bathroom was kind of shabby the sink faucet leaked and there was lots of discoloration in the corners of the tub shower setup. The Staff was great and did the best they could given the short comings. Even our fellow seasoned Princess cruisers stated never again after this debacle so good by Princess!
