After a very lengthy hiatus, we decided to consider cruising again. First we narrowed down a destination and time and then researched online and compared options. Our decision finally came down to the recommendation of trusted friends who had cruised on Norwegian ships a number of times in recent years. Happy to report we were not disappointed with a single thing on our Mexican Riviera cruise on the NORWEGIAN BLISS!
Things have certainly changed with cruising in 35 years, and all for the better. It's not often experiences exceed expectations....Beautiful ship in pristine condition, fabulous crew, delicious food, and awesome entertainment!
Norwegian's "Freestyle" cruising allows you to set your own schedule with no assigned dining times. This was one of our favorite features. We never had a bad meal. Even the buffet would have been sufficient to keep us satisfied all week but there are 19 venues from which to choose. Several restaurants are complimentary in addition to the buffet, however, many others are considered specialty dining and may be included with your package or available for an uncharge.
Our cabin was a Spa Balcony on deck 15 aft. Pleasantly surprised to find a king sized bed (?) when we expected a queen. Well designed with everything we needed. Cozy but not claustrophobic. The only suggestion I would make is to remove the bedskirt for easier access to store luggage under the bed. Small but adequate bath with good shower. Cabin steward kept everything in order and fully stocked.
