First, fill out the Information for the Medallion App way in advance of the cruise. We did and it was a flawless experience from embarkation for disembarkation. Once you do this, the Medallion Class is amazing. Second, if you have any questions, ASK. EVERYONE will help. Also, there are step by step videos that will show you how to do EVERYTHING.
Now, on to the cruise. The Sail Away celebration was awesome, brought a tear to my eye to be honest, but it was great seeing everyone again. Grand was only half full so I didn't wait anywhere for anything. I had reservations at 5 every night and that is DEFINITELY the way to go. The various food outlets had varying degrees of competence with the main dining room far outpacing all the others in service, including Crown, by a LARGE margin. Food experience in the "Trough" (Buffet) was lackluster, but then again, it IS the buffet. You wash your hands under the watchful eye of a crew member and then walk ten feet to the hand sanitizer. A bit much. The rest, not as good as pre-Covid, but then, I expected that.
The Spa was awesome, of course. A bit more Sales Pitchy than usual, but then again, expected. The gym? Nope. Not doing it. They require masking to use the gym, including the treadmills. This is against WHO recommendations and is unsafe at best. I understand WHY, but, no.
She's dated, but still Grand. Only 3 plugs that aren't QUITE charger friendly. Very clean and functional.
Was offered cigars and when I said no, they offered weed and cocaine. Mezcal was twice the price of Puerto Vallarta. Cabo Wabo was great but WAAAAY over priced. Sorry Sammy..... However, the food and service there was great. Best food there? Johns, right outside the lighthouse gate. Or, Pepper Johns maybe. Food is AMAZING! Drinks are not bad, just a bit sweet.....
Definitely a better port than Cabo. Cleaner and more stuff to do on land.
TRULY a hidden GEM! We loved it! Clean, safe, great places to eat (look for the red beret's!) and prices are right!
