Egypt is an amazing place and Uniworld is a great way to see it. Our guide, Mohammed was knowledgeable, passionate, friendly and funny, and we always felt safe with him. We could not have had a better guide. The food was another highlight, with great meals and menus for both lunch and dinner. The staff was also terrific - always remembering our names and preferences, and going the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and happy. The ship was also very nice. Our cabin was roomy and always clean. Basically, there was nothing that could have been done better and they merit 10+ stars. Highly recommend!

Our only complaints, and the reason for losing one star was, 1, limited communication with the company before the trip. We travel quite a bit and know what to expect in the way of pre-cruise information. Packing lists, weather to expect, itinerary’s etc. That was noticeably missing. Our travel agent had to make several calls to Uniworld before we left, for additional information.

Another problem is that the itinerary changed. Pre cruise we signed up, and paid for, a dinner cruise on the Nile for our first night in Cairo. It should have been lovely - a leisurely cruise through Cairo at night, great food and entertainment. For some reason, that was changed to the last night of the whole trip. Since we had a pick up for the airport at 10 PM, it would have been a rushed stop on our way to the airport, so we felt we had no choice but to cancel. We were left very disappointed. Read more
