We have taken many ocean cruises, but this was our first river cruise and UniWorld provided an exceptional experience! From the moment we landed in Cairo everything was well organized and arranged.

We were located at the Four Seasons Hotel for the Cairo portion of our trip, and the hotel definitely lived up to its reputation. There are some changes being made to one of the restaurants, but the remaining three were all quite good. We especially enjoyed the terrace and Chinese restaurants.

The Sphinx is a beautiful ship, with attention to details throughout. We did not miss the multiple shops, restaurants, etc. found on ocean going vessels at all. Our Christmas sailing was at around 50% capacity, no doubt due to COVID concerns. Everyone was required to be vaccinated (crew and passengers), masks and hand sanitizer readily available and encouraged both on the ship and tour buses.

Cabin Review

Suite

We were in a Suite for this cruise. One of only two available, we were located on deck 3. The room is stunning and the views from the floor to ceiling windows spectacular. The cabin is beautifully appointed and the bathroom out and out amazing. There was more than enough room for two. The only caveat I would have is unlike ocean ships, there is not space under the bed to store your luggage. Given the amount of room in the cabin it truly was not an issue.
