Chose Holland because of it's reputation for Alaska Cruises. Overall, a great cruise. Ship was very nice, food was very good, service was excellent. Entertainment was WEAK. Not sure if this was Holland or Covid. We're use to broadway type musicals, etc. Only think offered was a nightly interpretive dance routine. Honestly, my 12 year old granddaughter's dance recital was as good if not better. The comedy show was good, large crowds...but it was held in one of the smaller venues which meant you had to show up a minimum of one hour in advance to get a seat. Could not understand why it wasn't held in the large venue ( where the dancing was ) BB King'sclub with music was good...again, small and seating was tough to get. Excursions are very expensive...but so is everything in Alaska. Do not book the back country jeep tour in Icy Straite...waste of money. Bear Fortress and Raptor Center...you can purchase tickets for each AND transportation to and from at the port for a small fraction of the ship's cost.

Port Reviews

Glacier Bay

grab a good window seat early and hang on to it. If weather is good, deck 3 is a great choice. It seemed like going into Glacier Bay most scenic was on left side of ship

Juneau itself was very nice. We did the helicopter, Mendenhall glacier excursion...booked outside of ship with Coastal Helicopters....great company

Icy Strait

Not impressed. We did the Jeep/back country excursion booked through the ship. Waste of money

Loved Ketchikan....beautiful port. We did an Ebike tour through Ketchikan Kayak. Good people, very nice tour.

Sitka very nice. We got off ship and at dock bought tickets for Rapture Center and Bear Fortress which included transportation to and from. All for a fraction of what the ship charges. No problem with availability as buses run constantly every 15 minutes or so.

Stayed over 2 days in Seattle after the cruise. Stayed at the Belmont Inn...great location, easy walk to Pikes Market and the Water Front. Did the 3 hour Locks water tour one day and the 4 hour city tour the next day.
