Today we’re on a cruise for the first time, but this is been such a poor experience I wonder why people do it at all. We were excited and read everything from the cruise company, many reviews and watched videos from cruisenews, Emma, and Gary. Before this, I was thinking hey - we can cruise to the Arctic circle or go transatlantic instead of flying, but now I’d really have to think. What sort of resort could I have flown or driven to for the same money. That option looked better and better throughout the trip.

First I have to admit that I made a mistake. I should have booked with a travel agent instead of directly. I thought that, well hotels and resorts appreciate when you book directly - it saves them money.

Pre-cruise there were some problems with insurance but I figured it out eventually. So the day before we drove down from Vienna and spent the night in Ljubljana before continuing to Trieste. Read more
