  3. Viking Sun
This was our second Viking Ocean Cruise and fourth Viking Cruise overall. Really loved the itinerary and as usual the food and service was 5 stars plus. We had a DV cabin and it was very nicely appointed and our steward took care of us extremely well. Loved the public areas of the ships, the port talks, and the guest lecturers. Most of our meals were in World Cafe. We did eat at Chef’s Table twice and Manfredi’s once and the food was wonderful. Note that because of the ports, many stops required a tender to the port. The only difference that we saw from previous cruises was that many of the included tours were “panoramic” (meaning on a bus) as opposed to the active walking tours we prefer. In every port (if not able to walk straight into town) there was a handy shuttle into town for independent exploration. For those of you deciding between river and ocean cruises, be aware that this cruise seemed to attract a less mobile and more “entitled” and less intellectually curious group than the River Cruises we have been on and even our previous ocean cruise, Viking Homelands.

Cabin Review

Cabin
Beautifully appointed, our steward was most attentive and conscientious.
There was a persistent leak in the shower door which was addressed as soon as we mentioned it.
