Liberty of the seas balcony stateroom 8304 Embarkation was slow. We arrived at our scheduled time and it took about 2.5 hours to get aboard. Room was spacious, needed a wipe down especially the bathroom. Bed was terrible and no mattress toppers available. The room had a strong vibration the entire cruise. Others we talked to said they heard a stabilizer was out but not confirmed. The door to the balcony made a very loud noise when opening that we couldn't use it if one of us was sleeping. The room was quiet. Bar service varied. Most times It took about 10 minutes to get a drink or coffee. Drinks were strong and delicious. Pool area was always busy and crowded. We mostly stayed in the adult pool area. Pool was freshwater but we didn't go in as we seen how many people spilled their drinks and spit into the water. Smoking was allowed on the one side of the pool deck. Smell was terrible. I've read that most lines allow smoking on one side of the pool deck. I don't understand this as there are children all around. One cruise line we went on had smoking out of the public so it was great. The casino also was terrible for smoke and we had to avoid this deck altogether but could still smell it on the deck above. Main dining was typical. We had my time dining. Service was slow but comparable to other cruise lines we have tried. One night we waited over 45 minutes for our drinks so we just got up and left for the buffet. We did not do any specialty dining. Main buffet was good with a variety of foods. The staff was always friendly. We found we didn't have a lot of options for food after hours. Pizza and sandwiches were available but after two days was not what we wanted. Would be nice to have more after hour food available. Entertainment was enjoyable. The main theatre shows were good. We tried a few times to go to name that tune or trivia but the bar they held them in were so tiny there was never any room. You would think if an activity was so popular they would move it to a bigger venue. And don't even try to get a drink as it was impossible. Bring one with you. Overall we had a good time and would sail Royal Caribbean again.
