  3. Viking Sea
The first time we saw the Viking Sea was on "Mighty Ships" on TV. Right away we fell in love with the idea of trying it out. It seemed to us a the ideal ship for us: no kids, no Casino, no smoking, no bingo or any of the other circus attractions you find on other ships. It took us a while but finally our 20th wedding anniversary was the ideal excuse for booking this trip. The online portal helped a lot to organize most of the planning for activities on board (excursions, dining, spa). Also the live-chat was frequently contacted to clarify some details. First negative: not always the information I received in the chat was accurate, sometimes I heard the complete opposite from the next advisor than what I was told before. We had to give up booking our flights using Viking as they were not able to provide the connections / class / airline we were looking for. Unfortunately this way we lost $ 1,250 on promotion value. The well sized cabin was clean and comfortable. A little bit short on storage (Deluxe Veranda), but we could manage. The bathroom was amazing. Second negative: a small issue was the mini-bar door, which didn't close properly, so the motor was continuously on to keep the temperature. Noisy over night. Third negative: Due to a vibrating vacuum pipe we had a terrible metallic clatter every time somebody on the deck below flashed their toilet. Extremely annoying, especially over night. The itinerary was great even though it was slightly adjusted due to speed restrictions in the St. Lawrence River. Overall we were very happy and we've already booked our next trip on the Viking Venus.

Almost perfect.
