This is the Old Fortress in Cartagena, Columbia. A tough climb to the top w
Canal transit.

This was a destination we’ve wanted to do for awhile. Being from Alberta, Canada we liked that we started in Ft. Lauderdale and sailed through the canal and finishing in Vancouver, BC. From there it was a very short flight home.

We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a mini suite in which our room steward, Winston, kept very clean. Although we chose anytime dining, we chose not to do it. Instead, we ate breakfast and lunch in the Horizon Buffet where the food was great (sometimes a little too good), but one thing that bothered me was that various passengers refused to wash their hands even when prompted by a crew member. We had huge, delicious meals at both Sabitinis and Bayou restaurants. I would definitely recommend going to either one. You won’t be disappointed.

We booked excursions at all our ports of call but would’ve rather done our own thing on a majority of them. We didn’t find them up to Princess standards like others we’ve done on other ships. A special shoutout to the amazing staff in Crooners. Putu, Parban, and Bo became very good friends and I hope that we will cross paths with them again soon.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin ME

Very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Sofa was not very comfortable and was probably due for replacement as was the carpet. All in all, the cabin was very comfortable and met our needs. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay in this cabin again.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We arrived a day early and stayed at Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Marina hotel. Our room had a balcony with a view of the marina and ocean. Very close to the port.

Fuerte Amador (Balboa)

Great tour with a guide we all could understand. Went to the old city. Lots of history.

Huatulco

Very pretty place. Did the land and sea excursion. On the boat tour we were offered refreshments and snacks. It was a bit frustrating at times because other passengers stood at the front taking pictures while limiting the view for those with limited mobility.

Bus tour was okay. We stopped at a small market before heading back to the ship.
