After reading so many negatives about sailing on the Edge, prior to our cruise, when I returned I felt it was necessary to tell some of the positives of this beautiful new ship.

The embarkation was an absolute breeze. You do have a little hike after dropping off your luggage if you are parking a car in the parking garage. That said, the process of getting onboard was the fastest we have ever experienced. No waiting in long lines. Our seapass cards were in the door of our room and they actually told us we could go drop our things in our cabin before having lunch. None of the locked doors stating the cabins would not open until after 1pm!!! Such a nice treat. Upon entering, all of our excursion tickets, special dining reservations, etc were neatly placed on the bed. Of course, we had to try out the motorized shade and balcony window. Yes, the balcony is not as large as a standard but certainly adequate for the very comfortable chairs provided.

The café where the buffet is located is pleasant and very spacious. The one thing I didn't understand is why the handwashing station was not mandatory. Only saw a few using it. When we have cruised on RCCL, the handwashing station was roped off and it was mandatory each person entering the dining area wash their hands. They did have someone at the door offering hand sanitizer but I think the handwashing is more effective. Read more
