Cabin: Celebrity Suite

Overall the Edge is a beautiful ship with many very nice features and a couple of quirks.

Suite class comes with access to the Retreat and Luminae. both the Retreat lounge and Luminae had a very open feel with floor to ceiling windows, very nice. Luminae restaurant had great service and food. The Retreat sundeck was nice but we couldn't use it due to lack of shade.

We ate dinner in Eden, La Petite Chef, Steak House and Rooftop Garden, All very nice with La Petite Chef animation a big hit for us. The Steak house had nice steak but the service felt a little pretentious and rushed. The filet and other steaks in Luminae were every bit as good. Rooftop Garden's food was very good but watch out for the wind. We were at the Rooftop on an at sea night and stuck it out with the wind, The staff did their best to work around it (serving wine in Mason jars that won't blow away). We were given a free lunch as compensation for the wind.

Cabin Review

Celebrity Suite

Cabin CS

The Celebrity Suite was nicely done with plenty of storage for 2 adults. overall I give the cabin high marks.

2 sinks in the bath room was a nice touch and very handy.

The balcony was a standard slider with 4 chairs and a table outside. The slider was not lockable from the outside so you lost climate control inside when you were outside but otherwise very nice.

The rocking chair in the cabin was big and in the way. I would have liked an upholstered chair instead. I managed to stub my toe on the rocker more than I sat in it.

My biggest complaint with the cabin was the lighting and drapes. The bedroom and bath were fine. The main cabin was not up to my standards. All control of main cabin lighting and motorized drapes was controlled with a touch pad on the wall and you did not have individual control of the lights; they were either all on or all off. You do have control over the brightness but if you wanted a single reading lamp on while your partner slept in the other room you were out of luck. The motorized drapes were either all the way open or closed. I love technology but let me control lights individually and open the drapes part way.

We learned to live with the drapes and lights and enjoyed the cabin overall.
