We chose this cruise as part of a land/cruise package starting in Beijing. Embarkation at Shanghai was the longest we have ever experienced lasting over two hours. Passengers were being put through the priority lines regardless of Captains Club status. Once on board we found that the items we preordered for embarkation had not been delivered. It was a disappointing start to the cruise but things did get better.
The food in the Main Dining room was good albeit the menu was somewhat limited. By far the best food was found in Qsine and Sushi on 5. The lunch menu in the Ocean View buffet was very good with lots of specials going on such as lobster rolls. Unfortunately the evening menu was bland and repetitive.
Our concierge class cabin was good and clean. However there was a metal bar above the bed that was irritating. I believe it once held cushions as a sort it head board. Our cabin attendant was average and on several occasions did the evenin turn down at 4:30 in the afternoon. Each time he removed our canapés before we had the chance to eat them!

The curtains could do with being replaced particularly the net ones which were frayed and torn in places
We hopped on but everplace was so busy with huge queues we did no hop off.
Very good tour with hair raising Rickshaw ride through the city
A very long tour with poor guide who continuously lost members of the party. The Grand Palace was just too busy to enjoy to its fullest. The highlight if the 14 hour trip was the Royal barges.
It would have been nice if we had seen some animals. Most of the animals we were suppose to see were not nocturnal and were asleep.
