Excellent cabin on deck 11 (midships). Much better than we had anticipated.

Overnight after flight, great hotel, appalling embarkation procedure (worst ever)...

Shanghai

Did our wn thing, really easy from the ship. Peace Park, Atomic Bomb museum, spectacles bridge and a stroll around town....

Nagasaki

Ship provided a shuttle to the metro system thereafter we did our own thing. Bumped into friends off the ship who were on a ship tour several times at key sites. Lots of walking. Could have done with 48hrs really.

Hong Kong

Rented a car once ashore ($33). Toured the entire island... excellent and very easy provided you have a decent map...

Koh Samui

Enjoyable and tiring day. Did Wat Po then the Grand Palace. After that took a river boat along the river then a Turk Tuk to the designated pick up point. All very enjoyable.

Bangkok (Laem Chabang)

Dropped in town, given good information en route. Made our own way easily and readily got back to the pick up point.

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Nagasaki was great, interesting, thought-provoking and emotional, Busan was a hive of interesting activity, Hong Kong we had a decent length stop but probably needed at least another 48hrs, Ho Chi Min City was probably our favourite port of call, we took the ship’s excursion to the city and again would have liked longer, we took a ship’s tour to Bangkok and maxed out our few hours there too, on Koh Samui we rented a car and toured the whole island, and we had a great short stay in Singapore...The food was usually pretty good (steak we had one night was awful) but in our cruising we have been used to reading menu where deciding which of several dishes to select was the challenge rather than, do I want any of these dishes...
