We chose this cruise because we had never previously been to Norway, Iceland, Greenland, Shetland Islands, or Faroe Islands. We learned so much about the Viking influences on these places, and enjoyed surprisingly good, sunny weather. The only disappointment was not seeing the Northern Lights, but it was probably the wrong time of year. Even when turbulent seas prevented landing in one port, it seemed that the staff went "overboard" to increase activities and food choices that day.

We continually recommend Viking because of the service, attentiveness, and informative shore excursions. We like the fact that there is an included excursion in each port, with additional options in some places. Also, the included wine and beer with lunch and dinner is a plus, but additional beverage packages are also available.

My advice to smart consumers is to become a repeat customer, as the perks are enviable. Additionally, the Viking Ocean liners hold about 930 passengers, with the amazing spa areas including hot bathing, snow room and sauna.
